Sometimes a Light Surprises | Watercolor landscape painting inspired by a hymn

$250.00

This landscape painting was inspired by the hymn “Sometimes a Light Surprises”

Author: William Cowper (1779) “Sometimes a light surprises the child of God who sings: the light of one who rises with gentle, healing wings. When comforts are declining, God grants the soul again a season of clear shining, to cheer it after rain.”

“But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.” Malachi 4:2

  • An original watercolor painting on 140lb arches paper, 11x14 inches, unframed

  • Shipping: I ship my work with USPS the majority of the time and a flat rate is automatically calculated at checkout or select "local pick up" for front porch pick up.

  • This comes unframed but if you are local, I would be happy to work with you on framing for an additional cost.

Thank you for considering a piece of my art for you or your loved ones home.

Hymnscapes, landscapes inspired by hymns, began in February of 2020. I have always loved to sing hymns, they have always been a rich source of truth and worship for me. I hope these images help you sing and hear the words anew.

Psalm 96:11-12 “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy”
