When Morning Gilds the Sky | Watercolor landscape painting inspired by a hymn

$180.00

This landscape painting was inspired by the hymn “When Morning Gilds the Sky”

Translator: Edward Caswall (1854) “When morning gilds the sky, our hearts awaking cry: May Jesus Christ be praised! In all our work and prayer we ask his loving care: May Jesus Christ be praised!”

“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!” Psalm 34:1-3

  • An original watercolor painting on 140lb arches paper, 8x10 inches, unframed

  • Shipping: I ship my work with USPS the majority of the time and a flat rate is automatically calculated at checkout or select "local pick up" for front porch pick up.

  • This comes unframed but if you are local, I would be happy to work with you on framing for an additional cost.

Thank you for considering a piece of my art for you or your loved ones home.

Hymnscapes, landscapes inspired by hymns, began in February of 2020. I have always loved to sing hymns, they have always been a rich source of truth and worship for me. I hope these images help you sing and hear the words anew.

Psalm 96:11-12 “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy”
